Viviana Álvarez De La Parra

Chef Viviana has international culinary experience. She learned French cuisine, pastry, wines and spirits when studying at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. She trained in traditional Mexican cuisine in her home country of Mexico. She has worked in a 2-Michelin-starred restaurant, served as a private chef, and consulted on restaurants in both Mexico and the United States. She has recently completed her studies for vegan and vegetarian cuisine.
Chef Viviana’s warm presence, combined with her extraordinary culinary knowledge, instructional and curriculum design experience, and her language skills (4 languages and counting!) makes her a powerhouse teacher. Chef Viviana is redesigning our culinary curriculum for our job seekers and our union culinary upskilling to make sure that STEP delivers the competencies our participants and employers need. All of our students will benefit from having her on the team!
